When you run out of brown sugar (perhaps because the dog caused you to lose your balance and spill the whole damned container on the floor), you can substitute white sugar plus 1 Tbsp molasses for light brown, 2 Tbsp for dark brown.

Still fine-tuning our apple streusel muffin recipe before Christmas breakfast tomorrow.  Watch this space for the final result.
